Stitches used and abbreviations: The indications between ( ) are the abbreviations used in the pattern. Hook (hook). Stitch (st), Yarn over (yo), Skein (skein), Times (x). Row/Round (row/rnd), Fasten off (fo), Decrease (dec), Increase (inc), Slip stitch (sl st): Insert hook, yo, pull up a loop and pass directly through the loop on the hook. Single crochet (sc): Insert hook, yo, pull up a loop and with another yo, pull through all loops. Half double crochet (hdc): Yo, insert hook, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through all loops. Double crochet (dc): Yo, insert hook, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops and with another yo, pull through all loops. Treble crochet (tr): Yo twice, insert hook, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops (2 times) and with another yo, pull through all loops. Pattern stitch: follow chart.
Gauge: A 4 in (10 cm) square in pattern stitch following the chart using a B-1 (2.0 mm) hook = 17 sts x 9 rnds.
Instructions: Transfer the pattern template to tracing paper to use as a reference while making the piece. Front and back are worked as one piece. Using Cordonê Mais yarn in Golden Yellow and a B-1 (2.0 mm) hook, ch 68 sts plus 4 turning ch and work in pattern stitch following the chart. At 16.54 in (42 cm) from the beginning of the work, fasten off.
Finishing – Neck Cord – Using Cordonê Mais yarn in Golden Yellow, make a cord approximately 47.24 in (120 cm) long by twisting 3 strands together. Thread this cord through the sts at one end of the piece (see placement indicated on the template).
Back Cords – Using Cordonê Mais yarn in Golden Yellow, make two cords approximately 35.43 in (90 cm) long each by twisting 3 strands together. Attach one cord to each side of the piece (see placement indicated on the template).
