Stitches used:

2x2 rib: k2, *p2, k2*. Stockinette: k on the right side, p on the wrong side. Reverse stockinette: p on the right side, k on the wrong side. Garter stitch: k every row. Welt stitch: *2 rows in stockinette, 2 rows in reverse stockinette*. Cable pattern: follow the chart.

Gauge: 10x10 cm square following the chart, with 4.0 mm needles = 27 sts x 28 rows.

Execution:

Front and back – both are made the same way. Cast-on 100 sts on the 4.0 mm needles and work in 2x2 rib until it measures 9 cm. Then work in the established cable pattern, following the chart; make 3 evenly distributed increases on the 1st row and follow the chart, mirroring it after the indicated center stitch. When the work measures 33 cm from the beginning, start shaping the armholes: decrease 1 st every 2nd row, 4 sts away from the edge, 19 times in total; work the decreases as follows: for the left edge (when worn) k 3 (garter st) then SSK, for right edge (when worn), k until 5 sts left, k2tog, k 3 (garter st). Bind-off all remaining sts when the work measures 48 cm from the cast-on edge.

Sleeves– Cast-on 76 sts on the 4.0 mm needles and work in 2x2 rib. When the work measures 8 cm, work in the established cable pattern, following the section indicated for the sleeve in the chart. Make 3 evenly distributed increases on the 1st row and follow the chart, mirroring it after the indicated center stitch. When the work measures 32 cm from the beginning, work in welt stitch. NOTE: the welt stitch might look wider, because the stitches are tighter on the cable pattern. When the work measures 49 cm from the beginning, start shaping the armholes: decrease 1 st every 2nd row (19 times in total), then 2 sts every 2nd row (5 times in total). Knit the edge sts just as the back and front. Bind-off when the work measures 64 cm.

Finishing:

Seam the sleeves into the raglan armholes. With the circular needles, pick up and k 120 sts around the neckline, with the right side of the work facing out, and work in 2x2 rib. Bind-off all sts when the ribbing measures 10 cm. Seam the sleeves and the sides of the body.
