Náutico Slim 3 mm (400 g): 1 spool in the color 6581 (lilás);
5.0 mm Círculo crochet hook;
Círculo tapestry needle;
1 pair of round metal handles (12.5 cm diameter);
Scissors; Measuring tape.
Measurements: 24 cm x 32 cm
Crochet stitches used: ch: chain, SC: single crochet, slst: slip stitch, knot stitch: follow the chart instructions, body of the bag: follow chart 1, sides and bottom of the bag: follow chart 2.
Abbreviations: st: stitch, sts: stitches, FO: fasten-off, RS: right side.
Gauge: 10 x 10 cm square in knot stitch, using a 5.0 mm hook = 12 sts x 12 rows.
Execution:
Body of the bag- front panel: use Nautico Slim in the color lilac and a 5.0 mm crochet hook and work flat. Ch 32 and follow chart 1 for rows 1-29. Now, work around the panel in the round: make 129 SC and join the round with a slst on the 1st stitch. Distribute the SCs as follows: 37 sts on each side, 23 sts on the top, 32 sts on the bottom. FO and reserve the panel.
Body of the bag- back panel: same as the front panel.
Sides and bottom strap: use Nautico Slim in the color lilac and a 5.0 mm crochet hook and work flat. Ch 10 and work following chart 2 for 82 rows. FO and reserve this panel.
Finishing: join the strap (chart 2) to the front and back panels, one at a time, with a SC row (84 sts on each side), through the RS of the piece. Distribute the sts as follows: 23 sts on each side, 38 sts on the bottom. Fasten-off and reserve the piece.
Finishing around the handles: make 20 SC on the bottom of the handle, creating a base that will later be seamed to the bag. Switch to a tapestry needle and attach the handle to the 25th row of chart 1 of the bag, using running stitches.
