Using Nautico Poly yarn #5398 (Moss), ch 27 + 2 ch to turn and work in pattern st following the diagram; repeat from * to * in the direction of the sts (5x). At 10.2″ (26 cm) from the beginning, work 3 rows in sc, 1 row in dc, 3 rows in sc, and fasten off. On the second to last row, make an opening for the clasp in the center, 3.54″ (9 cm) from each edge: ch 3, skip 3 sts of the previous row, and on the next row, work 3 sc in the ch. Go back to the foundation ch, work 3 rows in sc, 1 finishing row, and fasten off.
Finishing
Fold 4.72″ (12 cm) at the beginning of the work, in the direction of the rows (see the dotted line on the illustration). Using Nautico Poly yarn #5398 (Moss), work 1 row of sc along both folded sides and around the flap. Work through both layers on the folded sides to close the sides of your bag. Attach the clasp to the base of the bag, aligning it with the opening on the flap.
