Chain (ch.); Single crochet (sc.): insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, and with another yarn over, pull through all the loops; Double crochet (dc.): yarn over, insert the hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over again, pull through two loops, and with another yarn over, pull through all the loops; Crossed double crochet: 3 dc., * 1 dc. in the 1st dc. of the 3 sts.*, 3 dc.; Fantasy stitch: follow the chart. Arch stitch: follow the chart.
Gauge: A 4-inch (10 cm) square in fantasy stitch following the chart with a 2.5mm hook = 32 sts. x 14 rows.
Instructions: Band – Front – Make a cord of 41 ch. + 3 ch. to turn, and work in fantasy st. following the chart. Repeat from * to * across the row (10x) with 1 edge stitch on each side. At 13.4” (34 cm) from the start, fasten off. Back – Work as for the front until 1.2” (3 cm) from the start. At this point, dec. 2 sts. on the right side in every row (6x). At 10.6” (27 cm) from the start, inc. 2 sts. on the right side in every row (6x). At 13.4” (34 cm) from the start, fasten off.
Bikini bottom (panty) – Front and Back – Both are identical. Start from the side. Make a cord of 45 ch. + 3 ch. to turn, and work in fantasy st. following the chart. Repeat from * to * across the row (11x), + 1 edge stitch on each side. After the 5th row, incr. 1 st. on the left side in every row (12x). At 4.7” (12 cm) from the start, work only on the 25 sts. on the right side in fantasy st. following the chart, leaving the remaining sts. on hold. Dec. 1 st. on the left side in every row (12x). At 11.8” (30 cm) from the start, fasten off. Resume the 33 sts. on hold and continue in fantasy st. following the chart. Inc. 1 st. on the left side in every row (3x). At this point, to lengthen the leg opening and form the crotch of the panty, work a cord of 30 ch. on the left and continue working across all sts., including the ch., in fantasy st. following the chart. You will have 36 sts. from the work, 30 sts. from the ch., repeat from * to * 16 times + 1 edge stitch on each side. On the 25th row from the start, dec. 2 sts. on the right side in every row (12x). At the same time, on the 29th row, leave 30 sts. unworked on the left. Then, to complete the leg opening, dec. on the left side as follows: 1 st. in every row (6x), 2 sts. in every row (3x), and fasten off. Make the front and back pieces the same. Once the front and back are completed, sew the straight side edges and the crotch of the panty. Attach the yarn to one side of the panty (front or back) at the leg opening, at the point indicated by the red dot on the pattern. Work 30 ch. and attach it to the opposite side in the same direction. Work in arch st. following the chart, repeat from * to * in the first row (10x) across the sts.; Secure the arch st. on both sides. Inc. 1 arch on each side in every row (5x) and fasten off. Attach the yarn at the division of the fantasy st. at the point marked with the red dot on the pattern and work in arch st. following the chart. Begin with one arch and inc.1 arch on each side every 4 rows (3x). When the arch st. measures 16.5” (42 cm) from the start, dec. 1 arch on each side every 4 rows (3x) and fasten off.
Finishing: Bottom – Cut 4.7” (12 cm) of round elastic and attach it to the sides indicated by the red line on the pattern. Work 2 rounds of sc. all around the leg openings and fasten off. Overlap the sc. rows to fully cover the elastic. Cut 23.6” (60 cm) of elastic and sew the two ends together securely to prevent them from coming undone. Work 2 rounds of sc. around the waistband, inserting the elastic between the stitches. Overlap the sc. rows to fully cover the elastic. Band – Sew the sides. Cut two pieces of 23.6” (60 cm) of elastic and securely sew the ends together. Work 2 rounds of sc. around both the bottom and top edges of the band, inserting the elastic between the stitches. Overlap the sc. rows to fully cover the elastic.
