Stitch Glossary & Abbreviations
st(s) = stitch(es);
Slip stitch (sl st) = Insert hook, yo, pull up a loop and pass directly through the loop on the hook;
Single crochet (sc) = Insert hook, yo, pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on the hook;
Double crochet (dc) = Yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops, yarn over, draw through remaining 2 loops;
Crochet fringe: Insert hook in the indicated space, fold yarn in half, yarn over and pull through, insert the ends through the loop, pull tight to secure (1 fringe). Repeat as many times as needed.
Instructions:
Front and back – They are the same. Begin at the waistband. Using C-2 (3.0 mm) hook and Cordonê yarn in Crepe color, holding 3 strands together, ch 63 + ch 3 to turn. Work in dc.
Increase at each side every row: 2 sts (8x). After completing the increases, continue straight until piece measures 11” (28 cm) from the beginning, and fasten off.
Finishing – Sew side seams. On one side, leave 3.5” (9 cm) open at the waistband for the zipper. Using C-2 (3.0 mm) hook and Cordonê yarn in Crepe color, holding 3 strands together, work 4 rows of sc evenly along the waistband. Fasten off. Using the same hook and yarn (3 strands together), work 1 row of sc along both sides of the side opening. Fasten off. Sew the zipper into the side opening. Work crochet fringe evenly around the entire lower edge following the instructions above. Cut strands measuring 16.5” (42 cm) each. Use 8 strands per fringe. Make as many fringes as desired. Line the skirt.
