Size: 50 (BR) / XL (US)
Stitches used: 3/3 ribbing – follow diagram 1, fantasy stitch – follow diagram 2, stockinette stitch – follow diagram 3.
Gauge: A 4-inch (10 cm) square in fantasy stitch (diag. 2) on the 6.0 mm circular needle = 12 sts. x 18 rows.
Execution: Transfer the patterns to the tracing paper to use as a reference for making the piece. Pay attention to the arrows on the measurement chart indicating the direction of the work. Knit the entire piece in back-and-forth rows.
Back: Use the Veludo Molhado yarn #4229 (Ipe Orange) and cast-on 75 sts. on the 5.5 mm circular needle. Start from the bottom with a 3/3 ribbing st., following diag. 1 and the sts. repeat for 2.75” (7 cm). On the last row of the 3/3 ribbing, increase alternately 8 sts., totaling 83 sts.; Switch to the 6.0 mm circular needle and continue the piece as follows: 1 edge st., 81 sts. (diag. 2), 1 edge st.; At 11.5” (29 cm) in length, increase 3 sts. on each side (armhole edge finish), totaling 89 sts.; Continue as follows: 4 sts. (diag. 3), 81 sts. (diag. 2), 4 sts. (diag. 3). At 21” (53 cm) in length, bind-off 26 sts. from each shoulder and set aside the 37 central sts. on a stitch holder to continue with the collar later.
Front: Work the same way as the back piece.
Assembly: Use the tapestry needle and Veludo Molhado yarn #4229 (Ipe Orange). Close the left shoulder (8.5” / 22 cm) and leave the right shoulder open to make the collar easier to work.
Collar: Transfer the sts. held on the stitch holder to the 5.5 mm circular needle, placing 37 sts. (back) + 37 sts. (front), and increase 1 st. on each side, totaling 76 sts.; Work the collar in 3/3 ribbing st., following diag. 1 and the sts. repeat for 9” (23 cm). Bind-off all sts., leaving a yarn tail of approximately 25.5” (65 cm). Close the collar (9” / 23 cm) and the right shoulder (8.5” / 22 cm).
Finishing: Close the body sides (11.5” / 29 cm), leaving armhole openings of 9.5” (24 cm). Close the lower part of the finish (armhole edge – 1.5” / 4 cm).
