Yarn Estimate by Size:
S/M: 2 skeins
L/XL: 3 skeins
XXL: 4 skeins
Gauge:
A 10 cm square following the stitch pattern with a 3.5 mm hook = 18 sts x 10 rows
Size: S The model wears a size S, with a loose and comfortable fit.
To make other sizes:
Increase or decrease the number of starting chains (always in multiples of 5)
Adjust the number of rows to reach your desired width
To take your measurements:
Use a measuring tape from the front of your body, over your shoulder, to the back. This will be the total length of your rectangle.
Instructions - Base
Start with ch 225, or another multiple of 5.
In the 4th ch from the hook, work 1 dc.
Continue with 1 dc in each ch until the end of the row.
Pattern
1- Turn, ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc, ch 2, skip 2 sts, 3 dc, ch 2, skip 2 sts – repeat from * to * until the end of the row.
2️- Turn, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, place 1 sc in the next ch-2 space from the previous row, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 1 sc in next ch-2 space – repeat until end of row.
3️- Turn, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc over the group of dc from the previous row, ch 2, 3 dc in next group of dc – repeat until the end of the row.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until the piece measures 40 cm in width, or your desired width.
Finishing and Assembly
Gently block each panel, if desired, to open up the stitches and enhance the drape.
Join the two panels (front and back):
With the right side of the fabric facing up, join using slip stitches:
Side seams:
Join only 6 cm
on each side from the bottom up, leaving a wide armhole and a side slit for comfort and movement.
Waist cord:
Make a chain cord approximately 170 cm long.
Weave the cord through the stitch spaces around the waist area to cinch and shape the piece.
